Employment Type: Regular Position Overview: This role involves
assessing and providing treatment for patients experiencing
physical, emotional, cognitive, and/or psychosocial challenges. Key
Responsibilities: Evaluate patients' capabilities to perform daily
living activities independently. Develop a tailored care plan that
specifies the type and frequency of treatment required. Execute the
treatment plan utilizing suitable methods. Record patient progress
and adjust the care plan as necessary, seeking guidance when
needed. Inform patients and their families or caregivers about the
identified deficits. Assist with the discharge process from therapy
services and offer guidance on selecting and using adaptive
equipment and support programs. Supervise care provided by
designated personnel in accordance with established regulations and
professional standards. Maintain a state of alertness and ensure
safety at all times. Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Educational Requirements: A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate
degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field, as necessary for
state licensure. Experience: No prior experience is necessary.
Physical Demands: Continuous standing. Regular lifting, carrying,
and pushing/pulling of items weighing up to 25 lbs. Frequent verbal
communication and auditory skills for sharing information. Regular
auditory skills to detect body sounds and alarms. Frequent visual
acuity for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more)
distances. Regular walking, reaching, gripping, and data entry
tasks. Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, sitting,
squatting, twisting, and repetitive movements of the legs and arms.
Occasional lifting and moving of objects weighing between 25-50
lbs. Occasional patient handling. Occasional visual assessment for
distance and color differentiation. Occasional driving. Rare
crawling. Licensure and Certifications: Resuscitation
Certification: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP)
certification is required within 90 days of employment. Additional
resuscitation certifications may be necessary based on departmental
